The fellowship is part of the research project “Phenomenology and outcomes of feeling touched or moved.” The project aims to study subjective experience, appraisals, physiological correlates, and motivational outcomes of the emotion of being moved, a frequent but understudied emotional experience. The appointment is either for a period of three years (with no teaching requirement), or for a period of four years with a 25% teaching requirement. The purpose of the fellowship is research training leading to the successful completion of a PhD degree.EligibilityThe department is looking for qualified and highly motivated candidates with the following requirements:A master’s degree or equivalent in psychology, or a cand. psychol. degree, qualifying for admission to the PhD programme at the Department of Psychology (note the requirement of a 2 year MA or equivalent);Applicants with grade points A or B on the ECTS scale will normally be qualified for admission to the PhD programme;Knowledge and experience in experimental social psychology and solid knowledge of its standard statistical methods are required;Knowledge and experience in the field of emotion research are highly valued;Knowledge and experience with online data collection, programming, and psycho-physiological measures are highly valued;Excellent written or spoken English language skills;Norwegian language skills or the readiness to acquire an adequate level quickly. Courses and seminars that are part of the PhD programme will normally be held in Norwegian.ScholarshipThe position is remunerated by salary of the level 50 – 57 NOK 430,500 – 483,700, (approximately EUR 48,870 – 53,736).
